Home Shopping Sites

Does anyone know what settings I need to change on the vista OS to allow browsing of secure sites?

We have internet thru a Motorola V3m and it was working fine and suddenly I can no longer get to secure sites such as my banking or any shopping. I tried turning off the firewalls and adding the sites to my trusted sites and none of this has worked. We have Windows Vista (YUCK) and things will work for a while and then just quit working. I have spent so much time and money already and now it's another problem. I am by no means a computer expert. Just someone with a home computer trying to do my banking, etc. online. Someone PLEASE help me! Thanks.

  2. You've hooked up your Motorola V3M to your computer to surf the internet and secure sites no longer work? Perhaps your cellphone company has disallowed secure sites. To ensure it is not your laptop...simply hook up your laptop to internet somewhere else (like a free wireless hotspot or a friend's internet) and see if you can visit secure sites..if you can, it is most likely your cellphone provider has disallowed secure sites. If your laptop does not visit secure websites, well...ask another question but leave out the cellphone part.
  3. If your bank is using a nonstandard port for https then that could be blocked by your isp. I'd try your v3m on a friends system and see if you get the same issue there. Also: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=177&context=SSEQTJ&dc=D600&uid=swg21245791&loc=en_US&cs=UTF-8&lang=en There seem to be some issues with the HTTPS/SSL/TLS protocol interchange between IBM WebSphere servers and Internet Explorer 7 browsers on Windows Vista. It's definitely a TLS issue I think.
