How can i make home made bird toys for my parrotlet?

Atm my parrotlet only has a swing and some round rope thingy with bits hanging off it. I would like to make it some toys as buying toys can be expensive. So are there any sites or something that teaches you to make home made toys using household items or items that u can buy from a shop?

2. Here's something that my Lilac Parrotlet absolutely loved. It was called the activity mat. I took a random towel (not terrycloth or the Parrotlet's claws might get caught in it) and very securely sewed some spare, cheap buttons on it (a pack should be 50 cents). The buttons should be colorful or bright. I also added a bunch of big beads. You can throw it over your shoulder/in your Parrotlet's playpen so it won't chew the buttons on your shirt! Also, you can use Lego blocks and build a maze. Place something tasty or your Parrotlet's favorite toy at the end of the maze.
