Do I need to register an online shopping website?

I am planning to set up an online shopping website . Do I need to register it somewhere to start selling things to the customers ?

1. You have to register your site with your Internet Hosting company ( The Company that owns the server your website resides on) also if you do not have a web address you will have to register that too unless it is already owned by a web broker ( go daddy.com for example)in which case you will have to cut a deal with the broker. I have a BS in Computer Science and will have my Masters in Computer Science in December. Jerry Gumbert
